How should I take research notes for a paper?
Record the full source details once, then for every note capture the exact page, whether it is a direct quote or your own paraphrase, and a tag for the argument it supports. That makes the in-text citation and the reference list automatic when you write.
Does the AI assistant store my passages?
No. The passage is sent to our AI provider only to generate the response you asked for, and nothing is saved on our side. Notes you save stay in your browser.
Can I use the AI paraphrase in my paper?
Treat it as a draft to learn from, not final text. Rewrite it in your own voice, check the meaning against the original, follow your institution’s AI policy, and always cite the original source, since a paraphrase still needs a citation.
How do I export my notes?
Use “Export notes” to download a plain-text file with every quote, page number, in-text citation and the full reference, grouped by source.
