What is stored, and where

Your saved sources, bibliography projects, research notes and last-used style are kept in your browser’s local storage on this device. They are never uploaded to us. Clearing your browser data, or the button below, deletes them. They don’t sync between devices; use the export options in the bibliography manager to back up or move them.

What is sent when you use a feature

• Autofill sends the URL, DOI or ISBN you typed to our server, which looks it up on that website, Crossref (DOIs) or Google Books and Open Library (ISBNs) and returns the details. We don’t keep a record of lookups.
• AI features (reading a pasted reference, the AI deep check and the research assistant) send the text you pasted through Vercel AI Gateway to an AI model to generate the reply. We don’t store that text, and we don’t use it to train anything. Don’t paste personal or confidential information.
• Everything else, including formatting citations and the rule-based checker, runs entirely in your browser.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not build profiles of individual visitors.
