Why some lists sort themselves and others don’t
Drag the cards below. In an author-date style the list snaps back into alphabetical order, because readers look up (Okafor, 2021) by surname. In IEEE your order sticks, because [1] means “the first source cited in the text”.

Where is my bibliography saved?
In your browser’s local storage, on this device only. There is no account and nothing is uploaded. Export a file (RTF, BibTeX or RIS) if you want a backup or need to move to another computer.
Can I import from Zotero, Mendeley or EndNote?
Yes. Export your library from those tools as RIS, then use “Import RIS” here. You can export back to RIS or BibTeX at any time.
How do I get the hanging indent in Word or Google Docs?
Use “Download for Word” for a document that already has double spacing and a 0.5-inch hanging indent. Or copy the list and apply the indent yourself: in Word, Paragraph → Special → Hanging; in Google Docs, Format → Align & indent → Indentation options → Hanging.
Why can I drag entries in IEEE but not in APA?
Author-date and notes styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard) must be alphabetical, so the list sorts itself. IEEE is numbered in the order you first cite each source, so you set the order.
